À propos du film
STAIN (கறை) One Incident. One Night. One Emotion. A single act of violence becomes the beginning of a night filled with fear, guilt, and an inescapable confrontation with the human conscience. After committing a murder, a man returns home, carrying the weight of a terrible secret. In the kitchen, he washes the bloodstained knife, desperately attempting to erase every trace of his crime. He believes that by cleaning the weapon, he can leave the horrifying incident behind and return to his ordinary life. But the night refuses to let him forget. As silence settles over the house, the cries and anguished screams of the murdered victim begin to echo within him. The familiar surroundings transform into a terrifying space where reality and imagination become indistinguishable. Panic overwhelms him. He runs towards the exit, desperate to escape the unseen presence haunting him, only to find himself returning to the same place. His own home becomes a prison, and every attempt to flee draws him deeper into his psychological torment. Exhausted and frightened, he seeks refuge in the living room. Yet even in stillness, the victim’s cries continue to haunt him. The face he cannot forget and the suffering he has caused force him to confront the truth he has been trying to suppress. As the night reaches its darkest moment, he comes face to face with the murdered victim, whose bloodied appearance brings his buried guilt into terrifying focus. Whether this encounter is supernatural or a manifestation of his shattered conscience remains open to interpretation. In this moment of reckoning, fear gives way to remorse. The man begins to understand that while physical stains can be washed away, the stain left by a human life taken cannot be erased so easily. His path towards liberation begins only when he acknowledges his wrongdoing and turns away from the violence that has consumed him. STAIN (கறை) is a psychological horror short film that explores guilt, conscience, repentance, and the possibility of redemption. Told through visual storytelling, haunting cries, deliberate silence, and an atmosphere of mounting dread, the film asks a fundamental question: Can a person truly escape a crime without first confronting the stain within? Ultimately, the film suggests that true liberation does not come from escaping the consequences of one's actions, but from recognising the truth, accepting responsibility, and choosing to change.
