After a long day rehearsing their final theatre production, drama students Wen and Hua unwind together in the dressing room. As they reflect on their performances, their conversation gradually shifts from acting to the emotions that emerge through their roles. When the intimacy created by their performances begins to blur the line between fiction and reality, Wen questions whether the closeness they share is only part of their characters. Forced to confront their different understandings of acting and personal boundaries, the two must decide where the performance ends—and where real life begins.
Réalisation
Yumeng Cai is a filmmaker from Vancouver, Canada, currently based between Taiwan and Canada. She earned a BFA in Film & Screen Arts from Emily Carr University of Art + Design and is pursuing an MFA in Filmmaking at National Taiwan University of Arts. Her work explores memory, identity, migration, and interpersonal relationships through intimate, character-driven storytelling. Drawing from her cross-cultural experiences, she is interested in capturing the emotional nuances of everyday life with a quiet, observational cinematic style.
