Living Paintings: Figures of Ancient Greek Mythology is a poetic and visually immersive film that brings five iconic figures of Ancient Greek mythology to life through an artistic cinematic language. As humanity approaches the edge of collapse, five mythological figures—each carrying a unique story, identity, and symbolic power—are brought together by a shared purpose: to save humanity from its own destruction. Through five distinct, interconnected stories, the film explores timeless human themes such as love, power, sacrifice, hope, and the eternal struggle between creation and destruction. Each character has a different journey, yet all are ultimately connected by the same question: Can humanity still be saved? Blending mythology, poetry, visual art, and cinema, Living Paintings transforms the ancient into something deeply contemporary—inviting audiences to see these legendary figures not simply as characters from the past, but as reflections of humanity itself.

Her background in acting, theater, writing, and performance informs her approach to directing, allowing her to move fluidly between different forms of storytelling. Now living in the United States, while carrying the cultural roots of her Greek heritage, Sigala is particularly interested in creating work that connects different worlds and generations. Her cinema explores the space between the personal and the universal, often bringing together contemporary experiences with mythology, memory, and visual art. Her latest short film, Living Paintings – Figures of Ancient Greek Mythology, reflects this artistic direction, transforming Greek mythology into a poetic cinematic experience that bridges ancient culture and the contemporary world.
