Synopsis

Erosion is an AI-assisted experimental short film exploring how life becomes replaced by programmed routines. In a damp, fog-covered rural environment, a woman and a cow exist within repetitive daily actions. As fog and insects gradually dominate the space, the boundary between human activity and the environment begins to dissolve. Through stillness, repetition, and subtle changes, the film reflects on the erosion of human agency and the persistence of routines without meaning.

About the film

Erosion is an AI-assisted experimental short film exploring the gradual replacement of life by programmed routines. Within a damp, fog-covered rural environment, a woman carries out ordinary daily actions alongside a cow. Repetition gradually becomes the film's underlying structure, while fog, moisture, and insects increasingly occupy the visual space. Rather than following a conventional narrative, the film observes the relationship between human behavior and an environment that seems to operate independently of human intention. Everyday gestures continue, but their meaning becomes increasingly uncertain.

Director

chili is an independent visual creator from China, with a background in visual design. Her work focuses on photography, moving image, and the use of restrained visual language to explore human behavior and the relationship between people and their environments. Erosion is her first completed short film.
