A long war has ended, but the peace that follows brings pardon, not justice. Every massacre committed before the treaty is forgiven, and the regions far from the capital are left to live with everything they lost. Five years ago, Tuuli watched her brother die protecting her from Ossuar, a warlord whose crimes the new peace has made untouchable. Her brother left her his village, his title and Kaldur — the guardian who once chose him and, after his death, chose her. Now the Empire wants to celebrate. Every region must travel to the capital, Kova, and enter its guardian into a ceremonial tournament: colossal creatures of flesh and machinery, once weapons of war, now fighting non-lethal battles as a symbol of Imperial unity. Refusing is not an option. Tuuli goes knowing Ossuar will be there. On the road, her escort is slaughtered by wild creatures, and she survives only because of Rusk, a regionless wanderer who travels with his guardian, Skarn. In Kova she learns who she must face in the arena: Ossuar. The tournament is a trap. Ossuar breaks its rules, leaves Kaldur motionless on the sand and unleashes a coup. His soldiers, hidden among the crowd, flood the coliseum with red gas, while a traitor inside the Imperial court delivers him Empress Irena and her scepter — a weapon that destroys anyone it does not accept. As the Empire collapses, Tuuli fights alongside Rusk and Skarn against an enemy who now holds absolute power. And when that power finally falls within her reach, she must decide what she is willing to become. DOMINIO is a science-fiction short film about the difference between a bond and a leash: between the loyalty that is chosen and the obedience that is forced.
