I agree that …
I agree that Letterman was calling Joaquin out when he was distant or high or whatever this whole thing with him is. But I disagree with his approach. Whether this is an act or the real deal, I think Letterman appeared to be quite insensitive and arrogant in this interview. I usually really like him, but I won’t back him up here. He was out of line.

Such a funny interview. Any other talk show host would have made this interview seem uncomfortable, but Dave made it hilarious.
Also, Joaquin is making a documentary with Casey Affleck about this “change of lifestyle”. It’s a joke and Letterman knew it was a joke.

David was a butthead. So he’s used to people coming on and pushing their stuff, and gushing over shit. So he had to try and actually do an interview for a change and it was a huge fail.
