ok it’s faster to load on startup, especially on older computers
but the whole ui is not that great compared to the first version. Not only the colors but all the little details they removed and also the weird tray menu is really slow
at leat from what I can tell on windows
the big problem on linux it that they don’t use vlc based player

This world wasn’t …
This world wasn’t made for man. Man weren’t made for man. Everything was made for God & His Glory. People only go to because they neglect God. You take stars, planets, mountains; creation and put Jesus Christ on the other side and He out weights them all. God is distinct, unique, sacred. No one is like the God from the scriptures. Thus, it is a dangerous thing to fall in the hands of a holy God apart from Jesus Christ. CRY OUT FOR MERCY UNTIL GOD SAVES YOU or YOU WILL GO TO HELL

Doh! Didn’t …
Doh! Didn’t mention that it’s the linux verson of Miro that has the flash problems.
December 22nd, 2009 at 5:25 am
The only problem I …
The only problem I have with the new version of Miro is that it can’t do the Hulu part yet. Something about flash not playing nice with the version of mozembed that miro uses or something like that.
I’m sure it will be fixed asap, but I was looking forward to this feature. Still a nice program though.

December 22nd, 2009 at 5:25 am
oh yeah, i …
oh yeah, i certainly agree there. none of the music managers really give audio podcasts their due.
December 22nd, 2009 at 5:25 am
Yes, Miro is …
Yes, Miro is certainly not an all in one, but it almost is, It cannot do what Songbird can do. As it happens, I use Miro for all my videos, plus my video & audio podcasts, then I just have Songbird to manage my music collection.
Having said that, Songbird is meant to be able to do podcasts, although I don’t like how it handles them. So I would say Miro is better for audio podcasts than Songbird is.

oh is it? I’ll take …
oh is it? I’ll take another look then. what still irks me is that, from looking at screenshots it does handle the audio stuff any differently. I’d like it to do what it does with video and manage audio like a audio collection manager ala songbird or itunes would.

I barely have space …
I barely have space for my HD videos — let alone download and store everyone else’s. How is the storage management features of Miro? Can automatically delete stuff after a certain number of days or after being watched?

It isn’t video only, I use it for all of my audio podcasts too. I have done for almost a year.
