Jacob has contracted dysentery from eating salamanders in the previous episode. Barb has a secret admirer who turns out to be Sam Losco (he comes clean after taking Phil hostage over money, shooting Ricky in the foot in the process), for whom she leaves Lahey. The final shot shows Lahey gulping from a bottle of liquor as Randy is placed in an ambulance, ending his long sober period.
