Do you like it when tv shows play songs in the background or do you think it is annoying?
If it enhances the viewing experience by, for example, adding atmosphere to the scene then fine, provided that it is not overpowering. That completely ruins it for me: it wrecks the atmosphere instead of enhancing it.
I’m not an avid tv viewer so i need your help summarizing what these shows are about:
-House
-Gossip Girl
-Weeds
-Californication
-Big Bang Theory
-Grey’s anatomy
-Canes
& what is coming up in the next season for these shows!

House-don’t watch
-Gossip Girl-rich teenagers tangled lives, with someone secretly reporting on them (i.e. very perez hilton meets OC)
-Weeds-Nancy is a subarban mom pot dealer, dealing with the repurcussions of the dangerous profession. The characters are all very loveable, and it’s got that sarcastic humor thing.
-Californication-an almost has been writer (played by a surprisingly sexy David Duchovny) struggling to get out of writers block, and dealing with his ex almost wife’s new relationship. Plus, he’s kind of a slut, in a charming, comedic way. His relationship with his ex is pretty intriguing.
-Big Bang Theory-don’t watch, sorry
-Grey’s anatomy-New doctors working in a hospital. Each episode has some interesting patient dilemma’s as well as following the dr’s personal & professional lives. Izzie & George are the most interesting thing going on right now, will they hook up? Will they not…, Meredith & McDreamy are on the boomerang that is their relationship. Her sister coming to the hospital will be an interesting twist this season, also Christina dealing with Burke being gone.
-Canes-don’t watch

I mean, the lighting in movies makes everything look more real. But the lighting in commercials and TV shows makes things look really cheesy and fake. What’s the difference in the way the lighting is set up for movies and for TV shows?
Movies have a higher budget. A higher budget means better special effects, and that makes for a more realistic look.
I read a lot of books and was looking for movies or tv shows similar preferably with either vampires or shapeshifters. The books I read are usually similar to Twilight series. The main authors I enjoy are Christina Dodd, Christine Feehan, Pamela Palmer, Lara Adrian, Sherrilyn Kenyon, ect. These books all are romances but with a lot of action. I’ve seen True Blood and Underworld but am having trouble finding more. Please let me know if you know of any movies or shows in this category.

For the tv shows Blood ties but it was cancelled after 2 seasons, dangit. And of course Supernatural, Charmed, Buffy and Angel.
I just love Sherrilyn Kenyon, I’ve always wondered what would it be like if they were made into a tv show but it would be quite hard finding guys all over 6ft, I laugh imagining Acheron with Simi, or p*ssed off Zarek.
Regarding books I’ve fallen in love with Kresley Cole and am waiting for the first book from Christine Feehan from ebay as we speak. Are her books as good as those of Kenyon’s (even if her latest ones have lost their touch for me)?
I love the L Word so much and I’m looking for some similar TV shows that have storyline about lesbians. But I don’t want a talk show like Ellen or a teenage show like South of Nowhere. I would like show about adults I would also like to say I’m looking for a show that is aleardy completely ended so I buy it on DVD. THANKS!

Well, with all the shows that are on tv, I know some of them might be too brutal for our kids to watch. What shows wouldn’t you allow your 5 yr old, 8 yr old, and 13 yr old to watch? Why or why not?
I would let them watch just about any one on regular TV, though I try to limit their TV viewing. I think it’s better to watch it with them and teach them what is right and wrong on the show. In other words make it a learning experience. That is what my parents always did.
