I need to make a meal for my international flatmates that shows that british cooking doesnt suck, suggestions?

As a nice gesture to get all of our flatmates a bit more friendly with each other it was suggested that we each try to cook more meals that we can all sit down and enjoy at the weekend and since we have so many international residents, that they would each prepare something from there own country. I thought this would be a great chance to cook some ‘winter warmer’ British meals and show that England is not just limited to fish and chips…. and tea. Now I’m not about to cook a massive three course meal, I’m only a uni student after all, but I’m definitely up for getting stuck into some serious cooking, so give me a hand and help my dinner stand up to Bernard’s no doubt amazing Paella.
Fix up a mess of biscuits and sausage gravy and scrambled eggs. If that don’t please ‘em, they’re too picky.
