Am I the only American who finds america’s comedy shows stupid, not funny and obnoxious?

Most American comedy shows joke about their private parts or about so and so private or they joke about the toilet or something related to the bathroom and it isn’t funny it’s embarrassing or they try to hard to be funny. For example I saw this show were a man was screaming " I hope she isn’t talking about my worm". Do you find that funny? because I don’t.

We in the UK find American so called comedies absolutely childish. There is always a screaming audience. Jokes are on the level of 5 year old kids who laugh at Willy’s and poo. There is always some so called adult putting someone down and the woman are cast as air heads.

The other clever lady who answered onviously does not understand how Yahoo works. Qs are often put on the UK and USA and Australian sites when traffic is slow, it does say all English Qs. We do not choose where it ends up.

Can you recommend any good british comedy shows?

I need some new comedy to watch! I like Alan Partridge and Saxondale, Little britain, the office and extras.
Been watching some episodes of IT crowd which is ok, and Catherine Tate show is pretty funny as well.
Are there any good ones that you can recommend?

I’m going to give you the long answer – because I love my comedies! In no particular order…

Life’s too short (about a dwarf, by the makers of the Office and Extras),

Coogans Run (Steve Coogan’s characters before Partridge),

The Inbetweeners – about four teens being idiots, best new british comedy?

BlackAdder – set in different English historic time zones. Medieval (don’t watch series one – its crap), Elizabethan, the Regency, and WWI. About a complete bastard (Blackadder, played by Mr Bean) and his dimwitted accomplice, Baldrick. Warning: Last episode of Blackadder Goes Forth may bring tears.

Father Ted – Three catholic priests living on an Irish island. Pretty anti-catholosism. Ridiculously funny.

Men Behaving Badly – two flatmates, drinking beer and leading a pretty sad but funny laddish existence

League of Gentlemen – Horror comedy. Unique.
Psychoville – by the makers of Leauge of Gentlemen. Horror comedy again. Not as good.

Bottom – slapstick. Two flatmates live in squalor, constantly drunk, thinking about sex and beating eachother up. Lovely.

Peep Show – two inept flatmates, one ridgid office worker, another dreamer musician. From their point of view.

Young Ones – before Bottom. Four students – a punk, a ‘poet’, a hippy and a ‘ladies man’. Slapstick. Classic.

Only Fools and Horses – No. 1 British comedy of all time. Always will be. Watch it.

Absolutely Fabulous – two spoilt fashion ‘gurus’

Red Dwarf – science fiction comedy. A human, a ‘cat’. a driod and a hologram on a space ship.

Pulling – Three female housemates. Desperate; self obessed; and an alcoholic school teacher.. Works well.

The Royle Family – Revolves around the living room of a family in Manchester who mainly watch telly all day. Absolute genius.

Phoenix Nights – set in a cheesy nightclub

Shameless – a drama really. But very very funny. About families on an estate in Manchester.There’s and American version but its not as good. Too sexed up. Are Americans really better looking than English people – or is it just they’re not allowed ugly, dirty people on TV?

Rab C Nesbitt – Try and make out what they’re saying. Scottish family in run down estate.

The Mighty Boosh – the fantastical world of the Boosh. Out of this world, fantasy comedy. Very wierd. May take a couple of watches to be hooked. Unique.

Nevermind the Buzzcocks – a celebrity music quiz show that has e laughing my head off (are you British? You may not get the jokes).

QI (Quite Interesting) – a celebrity quiz show where I get most of my knowledge from. Giving interesting facts and questioning what we already know.

Of course there are loads of classic comedies like Faulty Towers and Porridge, but I’m listing the ones I like…

Why can’t there be more comedy shows like friends?

I think what makes friends funny is the comical characters appearances and qualities. Directors need to find more people like that, it’s all about putting the right people together, and a good plot and some people with very good sense of humor. I don’t find shows like this anymore. Many shows have people who are not inherently comical looking, they look like normal people and that’s what not makes them funny. for example, the comedy show class. It’s not even funny at all because of the characters, they look like serious people. it’s stupid.

look up the show "How i met your mother" it has similaries to the show the show friends and and the same type of humor

Ok, so you usually see some really good comedy shows like That 70’s Show, Still Standing, Family Matters, King of Queens, etc. But they ended which is really sad. Now i am wondering what are some actually funny Comedy shows that are still making new episodes of. Not reruns. I already know Melissa and Joey.

There is a trend during the past 2-3 years in Indian TV comedy shows for men to do female roles. This is not just for the sake of comedy . Some of them do full make up including wigs and wear complete female dresses including sarees, skirts etc. There are men who only do female roles and grow their hair ! What do you think of this ? It is common in all languages and shows like comedy cousins , vodafone comedy etc .

Just disgusting – particularly VIP, Swapnil Joshi and Ali Asgar.

What are some romantic comedy TV shows?

I really like comedy shows, but I also like it when there’s some romantic relationships and drama between characters, kinda like Ross and Rachel from FRIENDS and Jim and Pam from The Office. Any suggestions?

South Park
That 70’s Show

Thats it for now, the show can be current or in the past
Yea Brady Bunch

Eric wasnt the main character, just because everything was in his house doesnt mean hes the main character

Those are the only two I could think of.

All the other shows I watch have a main character.
